Shepherd.com Analytics Overhaul: conversions started counting again
Shepherd.com was losing critical conversion data to ad-blockers, nested-element misfires and a tangled GTM/GA4/FB setup. Over four months we rebuilt their entire analytics stack—from server-side GTM on a custom subdomain to a modular, data-attribute event schema—restoring >98% accuracy and slashing 2.1M monthly Stape requests.

What was broken
- Massive data loss from ad-blockers & iOS tracking prevention
- Nested elements caused duplicate event fires
- High Custom Server event consumption threatening quota
- Complex GTM + GA4 + FB Pixel integration
What we rebuilt
- 01Deployed GTM server container on Stape proxy with custom subdomain
- 02Shifted all click/scroll depth tracking to a simple data-attribute schema
- 03Paused GA4 & FB tags until UA sunset; rewrote scroll triggers for UA only
- 04Delivered full handover docs so devs can add new events via HTML only
What started working again
- Achieved >98% tracking accuracy across browsers & bypassed ad-blockers
- Saved ~2.1M monthly requests on Custom Server—well under quota
- Onboarded a flexible event model: new button clicks require only HTML attributes
- UA goals & custom reports now feed real-time insights into marketing ROI
“Shahzada knows Google Analytics and Google Data Studio inside and out. He helped me set everything up so I can better understand how visitors use my website. He is easy to work with, and I will use him in the future when I need changes to GA. He is a pleasure to work with :)”
