The short answer
A Crisper client pay link lets the clinic pay for a site's subscription while the agency continues operating the site in its organization. Use it when the clinic should fund tracking on its own domain instead of your agency paying and rebilling. The agency generates the unique link; the clinic reviews the site and plan, then completes checkout. Payment does not itself grant an agency dashboard login or verify that conversion tracking has recovered.
If you already know the clinic should fund the subscription, skip to the checks and the recommendation.
Who pays, and who controls the site?
The clinic pays the site subscription through the client pay link. The agency keeps operating the site and its integrations in the existing organization. This separates subscription funding from dashboard access. For an agency, the arrangement needs to do three things: the clinic pays, you keep access to the organization, and the tracking work continues. Crisper's client pay link is that workflow.
The clinic pays. The agency keeps managing.
Payment and dashboard access stay separate.
Subscription payment
- Client pay-link flow
- The clinic completes checkout for the named site and plan
Site and integration operation
- Client pay-link flow
- The agency continues working in its organization
Dashboard access
- Client pay-link flow
- Managed separately from the payment link
Agree that arrangement with the clinic before sending the link. It does not define your agency's service fees or a future site handover. Crisper's how it works section explains the tracking scope.
Should the clinic or your agency pay for Crisper?
Either can pay, and the agency operates the site in both cases. The difference is whose card Crisper charges and whether your agency has to rebill the cost.
Card charged
- Your agency pays
- Your agency's billing in its organization
- The clinic pays through a pay link
- The clinic's card at Stripe checkout
Charging the clinic
- Your agency pays
- Your own invoice or retainer, outside Crisper
- The clinic pays through a pay link
- Nothing to rebill for the subscription
Who operates the site
- Your agency pays
- Your agency
- The clinic pays through a pay link
- Your agency
Usually fits when
- Your agency pays
- You bundle tracking into one retainer price
- The clinic pays through a pay link
- The clinic expects to pay its own software costs
The subscription is priced per tracking subdomain, one per client website, with the Recovery plan listed at $297 a month. That ties the cost to one clinic's website, so many agencies prefer the clinic to pay it directly. It keeps a recurring software charge off the agency card and out of your retainer margin.
Scaled AI is an agency that manages 10+ treatment-center domains on Crisper under one agency org. Its Scaled AI case study lists clinics funding through the pay link while the agency keeps org control.
However, the clinic is paying for usable conversion tracking on its own domain, not for a promise of more leads. Say that plainly before you send the link. The restriction explainer covers what the clinic is funding when Meta limits its events.
What if your agency already pays for the site?
You can hand the subscription to the clinic without paying twice. Generate a pay link for the site that is already active. The clinic's first charge waits until your current paid period ends, and your agency subscription is set to end at that date.
Until the clinic completes checkout, nothing changes. Your agency subscription keeps renewing as before, so follow up if the link sits unpaid.
How does the agency create and send a pay link?
Use the site's Client pay link control in the dashboard. Depending on the billing screen, it may appear as Generate pay link, Send pay link, or Have the client pay for this subscription.
- Confirm that you are working on the correct client site.
- Open the client pay-link control and choose the subscription plan if prompted.
- Generate the link and use Copy pay link.
- Send the unique link to the clinic contact responsible for payment, with the site and plan explained.
Use the generated URL. Do not build a token by hand or send a generic signup link in its place. Check the displayed plan and amount before the clinic completes payment.
What does the clinic do after opening the link?
The clinic opens the unique /pay/ URL and reviews the named site and plan before continuing to Stripe checkout. The agency does not need to share its own login for that payment step.
Ask the clinic to confirm the site and subscription terms shown at checkout. If the displayed details are wrong, stop and have the agency correct the link. A payment confirmation establishes billing status; verify the tracking event separately.
After payment, setup takes about 5 minutes when you have DNS access, access to the Meta integration and the ability to add the tracking snippets, and the founder sets up the first client domain with you.
What if the link is invalid, expired or already completed?
The pay page distinguishes links that are unavailable from subscriptions already set up. Use its status before generating another link.
Invalid or unavailable
- Next step
- Ask the agency to check the site and send a valid link
Revoked or expired
- Next step
- Ask for a fresh link. Links expire 14 days after they are created
Completed
- Next step
- Check the existing subscription rather than repeating checkout
Active link no longer needed
- Next step
- The agency can use Revoke in the pay-link control
How should you explain the payment terms to the clinic?
Name the site, the selected subscription and the access arrangement in plain language. This is suggested wording, not a customer quote.
"This link is for the Crisper subscription on your clinic website. Please review the plan and amount before checkout. Our agency will keep operating the tracking in our organization. We will check conversion availability separately after setup."
If the clinic asks why it should pay, connect the cost to what it already sees. For example, its CRM still receives enquiries while Ads Manager reports no usable Lead events. The subscription pays for recovering usable Lead and Schedule events on the clinic's own domain.
When discussing the advertised seven-day trial, include its terms: payment method required, one trial per domain and seven days to cancel. Use the actual eligibility and price shown at checkout. The FAQ covers the public offer.
If the restriction diagnosis is still incomplete, gather the audit evidence first. That gives the clinic a clear technical task to fund.
